Steve Roth

Steve is the founder, CEO (Chief Entertainment Officer), and organizer of WE ARE THE 80’s. His love for all types of 80’s music led him on a journey to locate fellow musicians who shared the same passion for the variety of musical styles that developed and were so popular during this decade. Steve is the band’s percussionist (acoustic & electronic) and began his percussion journey at age 5.  Along the way, he studied with such notable instructors as hand-technique guru Murray Spivack, Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth & Ringo Starr), Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock & The Headhunters), and Karen Teperberg (Chris Botti, Sting, Jessie McCartney).  He made his first musical appearance in public at age 7. He’s performed with a multitude of bands over the years,  and has shared the stage with musicians from Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Bolton’s groups.  With WE ARE THE 80’s, Steve plays Joe Montineri acoustic drums and Pork Pie snares, Paiste Signature series cymbals, Vic Firth Extreme 5B drumsticks, and Roland and Alesis electronic pads.

Kat Buratti

Kat, co-lead vocalist of We Are the 80’s, was raised in a musical family where the soundtrack of life was always playing. Her love affair with music began early, but it was the electric energy of the 1980s that struck her like a lightning bolt. When she first heard a Pat Benatar record, she was floored by the profound impact a female rock and roll singer could have. In that moment, she knew she was hooked and destined to sing.

Inspired by powerhouse female and male artists like Annie Lennox, Joan Jett, Debbie Harry, Cyndi Lauper and Steve Perry, Kat embraced their boldness, originality, and fearless passion. Singing became her sanctuary—a space where she could tell her truth, feel her feelings out loud, and connect with audiences on a soul-deep level. Every performance is an opportunity for her to share her passion for music and keep the vibrant spirit of the 1980s alive.

With We Are the 80’s, Kat channels her influences and delivers unforgettable performances that celebrate the decade of big hair, bold fashion, and iconic hits. Whether she’s belting out a rock anthem or leading the crowd in a singalong, Kat’s energy and authenticity shine through, making every show a nostalgic journey and an electrifying experience.

Sara Marsh

Sara Marsh is a guitarist with decades of experience playing live and in the studio. She is adept at most styles, having played country, blues, pop, and metal in bands based in her hometown of Los Angeles and while attending college in Kansas City. Sara toured the world for 10 years with The Iron Maidens and appears on all their studio and live releases. She also composes original music in her home studio and releases it under her nickname Sarabaracuda. Her live show is unabashedly in your face, sometimes literally. Feel free to ask her questions during the set as she can play and talk simultaneously, but be ready to take a pick and give the whammy bar a pull as a polite thank you. Offstage, Sara teaches special education and loves to bake. Her stage equipment is a Fractal Audio FM9 guitar processor, an EVH tribute guitar, and two custom super strats. Sara’s favorite song to play with We Are The 80’s is “Separate Ways” by Journey.

Fish Olmos

To know “The Fish” is to know someone who lives and breathes music, even without an instrument in his hands. A child of the ’80s, he brings an encyclopedic knowledge and appreciation of popular music from that decade to We Are the ’80s and is happy to share his talent, knowledge, and enthusiasm with the band.
Born in Los Angeles, Fish was struck by the thunderbolt that was “Yesterday” by the Beatles at an early age. It set him on a long and winding road that has taken him through numerous musical epiphanies and experiences which shaped him creatively, emotionally, and intellectually. Initially taking up drums at the age of seven, he then studied piano from the age of 10 to 14 before taking up guitar at the age of eleven and bass at sixteen. Along the way, he played clarinet in the middle school band and tuba in the high school marching and concert bands. Fish’s musical influences are diverse and eclectic, reflected in his varied performing experiences such as acoustic singer/songwriter material, jazz, blues, funk, soul, reggae, and various sub-genres of rock (progressive rock and jazz-rock fusion are his two favorites). A multi-instrumentalist, he plays guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, harmonica, recorder, keyboards, drums, and percussion. In addition, he sings lead and harmony vocals.
The Fish’s stage gear reflects his aesthetic to playing bass: lacking in frills, yet far beyond merely adequate. He plays a Fender Jazz bass with Rotosound Swing 66 strings through a Fender Rumble 500 combo amplifier and utilizes an MXR Fuzz Deluxe pedal, inspired by bassist Greg Lake of King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

Jazzlyn Rose

Jazzlyn Rose, a classically trained pianist, received a degree in keyboard technology in 2010. Born and raised in Southern California, she has played live in all genre bands around Los Angeles. After college, she quickly developed a passion for film scoring and composed for many films. She has also produced and written two albums: In The Key Of Earth, and Spirit Healer (featuring the Native American flute), both available on all music platforms. Jazzlyn also worked as a session keyboard player for Beverly Hills’ GOOD Music record label working with Kanye West and Jay-Z.

In her spare time, Jazzlyn has a passion for building Harley Davidson motorcycles and holds a mechanical engineering degree.

Jazzlyn is currently dedicated to the band WE ARE THE 80’s.  Her equipment setup includes a Roland Fantom 06 & Roland Juno-DS.
